She Dreams In Color
Growing up, no one told me I could be a journalist, videographer, or entrepreneur. As a girl, career options in the 80s, while honorable, were limited. Those options narrowed even more when I became a teen mom at 17. That’s why the She Dreams In Color Interview Series features women’s Occupations, to show girls and women the jobs we are called to do.
“If you can see it, you can be it.” ~Billie Jean King
Interview guests also discuss a personal Obstacle they’ve overcome. Research shows many positive impacts in building community resilience through digital storytelling.¹ Discussions of mental health are woven throughout the interviews because research shows online stigma-related content destigmatizes mental health needs and seeking care.²
“There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.” ~Maya Angelou
The name “She Dreams In Color” came to me as I opened my eyes one morning in 2018. I knew it perfectly captured how my world transformed when I saw my own possibilities through other women’s stories and experiences, as I moved through mental health therapy healing, and as I began showing up in the world my authentic and bold self.
